I took your pH/EC meter to Herat, Afghanistan to test water in surrounding villages. They are having trouble with some of their crops and I suspected that it was salt. It was and I was able to make reccomendations to help them avoid the issue. Your unit worked great. HI 9811-5N is the unit. I left the unit with the team that is working with the locals to grow Saffron. They were very excited to use your valuble tool.

Miles's Checktemp Thermometer has lasted him 20 years.

Miles Chesley, Research Chemist - Cartersville , GA

We have been using Hanna products for years on our research and education vessels that take K-12 students out hands-on water sampling cruises in Lake Michigan. The Hanna pH and conductivity pens have been around the whole Lake Michigan basin for our public tours. We love their durability and ease of use. Note: we have a cute picture of a 90+ year old lady holding one of the pens when she was on our W.G. Jackson boat in Manistique, Michigan. She wanted to do some water testing.

Dr. Janet Vail - Muskegon, MI

In 2009 Salt Lake County undertook a massive data collection campaign to eliminate data gaps identified in our Water Quality Stewardship Plan. Paramount to this campaign's success was the collection of water chemistry data, macroinvertebrate data and physical habitat data. We needed a portable multiparameter sampling probe capable of capturing as much data as possible in a single unit with the added difficulty of being rugged enough to capture data in the most extreme environments. We chose the Hanna HI 98280 to be the workhorse behind this project. It has delivered data in remote mountain streams at 10,000' and valley bottom raging torrents and 106 °F heat at over 100 sites per month. The simple use, calibration, downloads and mapping capabilities have saved our organization hunderds of hours of maintenance and data entry required with similar units. We enthusiastically endorse the HI 98280 and anxiously await the release of the new model! Click here to see full story >>

I use these meters in the water reclamation field and also for customers in the car wash industry who need to keep their water within a specified pH range in order for the carwash chemicals to work effectively cleaning cars. I find your meters easy to work with and professional looking enough that the customer has confidence in my testing.

The HI 99121 has been invaluable to us in our business. In growing containerized tree seedlings we rely on quality peat moss as a primary foundation building block for growing our crop. One of the most critical aspects of the peat is pH. If it slips below 4.0 in the bales we know we are in trouble. One can never depend on dispatchers with big peat companies to actually come through with the specifications we want. It all looks the same once it is packaged. With pH being so critical we need to take hundreds of samples as the loads come in. Doing this by the saturated paste method would not only be time consuming but a very messy task as well. When we found this device at a horticultural trade show we knew it would be perfect for our situation. It allows us to take as many samples as we want without tearing open bales and mixing slurries. Testimonies:
Hanna is one of my best manufacturers. With our pH/SO2 tester, I easily recheck all tankage biweekly or check must at harvest within just a few minutes and our Hanna alcohol tester reassures us we are on track, without a big setup. Best of all, no overtime...unless I'm the one who needs it.

Gary Forsee - Coffeen, IL

Here at the Wine Room of Monmouth County, our Hannah Instrument of choice is the HI901. The machine is accurate, easy to use, and very useful for the many barrels of wine that we need to test. Thank you!

We use your products for a lot of our water quality research. You guys make the a great pH EC meter. very accurate and dependable.

Chris Lasser- Fort Pierce , FL

We have used Hanna instruments for years now. VERY stable and VERY reliable. We do product testing for nutrient systems and a good meter is a MUST for our work and testing. We use a 6 stage filtering system and temperature controlled water storage tanks and we rely ONLY on Hanna instruments to ensure us our water is ALWAYS at its best! We also custom build and design advanced hydroponics systems and we use Hanna instruments ONLY on all our control modules for our systems and 24/7 multi stage nutrient solution monitoring. Thank you Hanna!

Ronnie Morrissett - Nantucket, MA

I use my Hanna Combo pH & EC meter on a regular basis. It is the fastest way to stay on top of my plant and fertilizer levels. It saves crops and is worth the seconds it took out of my day!

Cristina Sheehan - East Moriches, NV

I have a Hanna HI9813 Gro-Chek meter. I use it on a daily basis for my hydroponic garden. I am impressed with the stability of the meter. Every time I check the calibration it is right on the number. I find it so reliable that I only check it once a month. In my past years I worked as an analyzer technician and used several pH meters every day. Most had to be re-calibrated every time they were used. I realize that this will not win a prize but I just want to say how good this meter is. I ruined one by having it exposed in the case when a water hose burst and soaked it overnight. I ordered another exactly like it and would not consider anything else.

Valery Garon- Prairieville, LA

PPM or TDS without your Hanna there's no success, A crop ruined? An ugly mess? Use that Hanna! It's the very best! No more guessing, I must confess With my trusty pen, My plants are blessed!

Joe O'Neal- Leesburg, VA

So I've got this pretty cool 120 gallon box of water with tons of SPS. It's been cruising like a fighter jet for over a year with no problems and I could grow any SPS you threw in the tank. Nothing could go wrong...right? Well, so I thought until February of this year came around. I opened a "new" box of API Alkalinity test and began my daily alk testing. You know, stick with the routine. Well, all of a sudden, my SPS started lifting their skirts with rapid, base up, necrosis. I mean these things were throwing up their tissue faster than I thought could ever happen. I looked for bugs...no bugs. Macro photos, online consults, pictures sent all over the U.S. and no one could tell me that it was anything more than just a chemistry issue.

What chemistry issue I asked? My alk is 7-8 and I've also checked with another brand of test kit and found comparable results. Calcium 400, magnesium 1300. It was all good in the hood so why were my SPS dropping like toilet seat lids?

I did water changes, I added nutrients and I get taking skeletons out of the tank every week. Well, this went on till I started running low on test kits for alk because I was checking like twice a day. So I took some water to a friends place and used his Hanna Checker. Lo and behold, my actual alkalinity was like 3.2. The kits I had been titrating with were apparently weak or bad because they took a lot of drops to titrate an endpoint and led me to believe my chemistry was ideal.

I immediately placed an order for a Hanna Alk Checker and had the delivery come in STAT! The patient was critical and we had to stabilize the tank ASAP! Over the next few days, I brought the alkalinity up little by little and found the sweet spot right at 8 and guess what? No more necrosis. I just wish I had found out about my bad test kits before I lost about $3000 of SPS corals.

So any of you that think you are fine with your titration test kits...think again buddy! Cheap insurance is to buy a Hanna Checker and some Standard Alk solution to periodically test your alk. Learn from my tragedy!

Mike Meek - Austin, TX

I can not get over how easy it was to set up and use the HI9813, just pop the battery in, open up a sachet of pH calibration solution push ph probe in, set by turning pH calibration knob till it shows a pH of 7.01, takes a total of 5 minutes. Just cant get over it, all my readings are so on the money now. These plants get so huge when ec /ph /ppm / are dead on, Yes it does make a very big difference and hate to admit, but took me buying a quality meter, most of the meters I have had, would not last long at all sometimes 6 months. I am pretty rough with our equipment, I have had my Hanna meter for about 2 years now, just keep it free of salt build up and calibrated and the show will go on, your truly a central valley grower.

Joseph Sanchez - Fresno, CA

I just purchased a Turbidity/Chlorine meter, a conductivity meter, and a 9828 multimeter. We do extensive monitoring of a creek, 15 monitoring wells, a drinking water system, and a sewage wastewater system. These meters equiped with the GPS and Tag Identification System has made my testing much easier and conveinent.

Aloha: HANNA Instruments is new to us here in "rainy paradise" of Hilo, Hawaii that we live, work and study. We recently discovered Hanna as a reasonable supplier to find hard to locate instruments, products, and services not easily available here on the Big Island of Hawaii. Time will tell if we made a wise choice in choosing HANNA for our instrumentation and control desires, needs, and wants. Safety First in developing a "Sustainable" and ecologically friendly enviroment in paradise! As we say in Polynesian Hawaiian: "Mahalo o nui loa for your kokua." Thank you for this opportunity and your valuable assistance with our endeavors, projects, and accomplishments. Aloha.

John & Kealoha Swatek - Hilo, Hawaii

Managing the largest known Indigenous Observation Network in the world is not an easy task for a small grassroots non-profit known as the Yukon River Inter-Tribal Watershed Council (www.yritwc.org). One of our top priorities in the science department is collecting water quality data at over 45 sites across the Yukon River Basin, which encompasses an area twice the size of California, bi-weekly during the open water season.

From the conception of the program in early 2006, Hanna instrument products have been assisting our endeavor by providing durable products with straightforward application. Many of the technicians use the Hanna Pocket Meter to record in-field pH, conductivity and water temperature information while collecting water grab samples to be lab analyzed. The Hanna Pocket Meter has made my job so much easier! Training technicians on calibration and field application techniques is simple and these meters have survived multiple years of rigorous use in very remote locations will little to no associated maintenance cost. This item is budget friendly to boot!

As our program expands we are looking to upgrade our equipment to a Hanna mulitparameter sonde. If the Pocket Meter is any indication of the quality & usability of product we will receive, I have no hesitation. I will be slightly sad to see the durable little Pocket Meter take on the role of a handy little backup, though I\'m sure it will excel in that arena as well.

Leah Mackey - Fairbanks, AK

Just an easy dip, And soon you'll find, The pH rate of your sample, All of the time, Whether the numbers too high, Or the number is low, The Hanna pH meter, Tells you the way to go!

Leslie Rosenberg - Boston, MA

I'm the Printing Manager at a corrugated box factory in Fremont, Ohio. I use the Hanna portable HI 9125N pH meter daily to check pH of our flexographic printing ink. The Hanna meter is made for industrial use and is capable of withstanding the dust and rough environment in our corrugated box factory. The battery life is exceptional, the display is impressive and easy to use. By simply dipping the probe into the ink, you'll get an instant reading of your ink's pH. I have 4 meters and it's real simple to calibrate them so they are always accurate. I use the #7 and #10 buffer for a good ink range. We keep our ink at 9.0 for good run-ability and trapping of colors. With using the Hanna meter's, we do not have any problems with our ink.

R. Darr - Fremont, OH

James Rodgers - Helena, MT

HANNA meters are the best on the market. I have used Milwaukee and Blue Lab and have spent hundreds on meters that have failed. My HANNA pHep is working great and standing up to the task of multiple reservoir hydroponic testing without hassles. Thank you HANNA! Keep up the good work!

Molly White - Manistique, MI

I use both the pH checker and the waterproof TDS HI 98312. They are simple to use and provide the accurate results I need.

D. Goff - Racine, WI

We have chosen and use Hanna pHep4 meters to test our pools for about 10 years. They are very accurate, easy to calibrate and dependable. We particularly like the replaceable probes. We also have TDS meters for field use.

Suzie Campbell - Oklahoma City, OK

I allow my "newbie" freshman to use Hanna pH meters in any lab that requires it! The are very accurate and so easy to use, and I am not worried about my freshman breaking them, because they stand up to a lot of abuse! I am replacing all of my kits in biology with Hanna pH meters when the money rolls in next year!

Tim Kennedy - Malakoff, TX

I have both the free SO2 and acid titrator. I find both easy to use especially the free SO2 titrator. In the past I have used seat of the pants addition of potassium metabisulphite. Now I can easily determine then correct amount to add. I especially like the fact that the systems are automatic and I can perform other tasks while the measurement is being completeted. I bought both titrators on the premise "that if it is easier to test, I will do more testing" I recently had some difficulty with the free SO2 probe, but bothh a customer service rep and tech services were very courteous and helfpful. I am awaiting the probe replacement under warranty. Keep up the good work.

Sal Coco - Kansas City, KS

We recently acquired a model HI 98703 Turbidity Meter. The ease of setup and standardization was fantastic. The menu guides you through every step of preparation and analysis. The speed and accuracy of the results is quite impressive. We were able to create a procedure and implement usage of the unit, within hours of delivery. We are very pleased with our decision to consider Hanna Instruments, for our turbidimeter requirements.

Matthew Davis - Livonia, MI

Hand held Hanna instrument has been a great support to our organization in the field (vineyard) and winery. we give classes in growing and wine making and we must have very reliable instruments to show the young generation. We have been very impressed with the easy of use and accuracy of the instruments. Thank you Hanna

Susan - Moraga, CA

I am the winemaker at Captainvineyards, I just purchased the Hanna Free and total SO2 Monitor and am pleased with its performance. I do own a Milwaukee ph tester that had given me headaches for the last 10 months, and I do not seem to get any help from the company despite emailing them more than twice about the problem. I am considering one of your meters as replacement.

Sal Captain - Moraga, CA

I love Hanna Checkers to check for my Phosphates, Alkalinity and pH in my 90 gallon reef aquarium. I am so thrilled that Hanna actually had the inspiration to make these new Checkers to check my aquarium water quality. They are very affordable and very easy to use. I have told all of my aquarium buddies on Reef Central about these and how great they are. I am now waiting for the Calcium, Magnesium and Nitrate Checkers to come out to complete my testing equipment for my reef tank. I am so glad I don't have to use the old liquid drop testers to figure out the results of each test. The liquid testers are very difficult to read since you have to match the results on a color chart. With the new Checkers, all you have to do is read the very accurate results which comes in a number form and not match a color to a number. It's incredible!!! I'm a very loyal and happy costumer. Thank you Hanna Instruments.

Bartolomeo Rego - Hollywood, FL

I actually use the HI 991003N for pH and temperature checks when I do my part-time job - we build and maintain fish ponds. You have to have a very steady pH and temperature or otherwise all the fish die, so we always rely on the best equipment, which is usually a solid Hanna tester. My favorite part about the HI 991003N is that I can keep it in my pocket all day while I work, climbing in and out of places, doing landscaping work, and it doesn't get de-activated or lose its calibration or anything like that. No matter when I need it, whether I just slipped and fell in a pond, or tripped over a bush and banged into a tree, the Hanna tester just keeps on working, and working well. It only has two buttons, which is brilliant because there's nowhere to damage the machine and it is simple to use. Very nice piece of work. Anyways, thanks for a cool tool for a landscaper! I work for a book company, too, and we write about the Hanna equipment there, too, so it's sort of a small world. Cheers, and thanks again! Nice to see you on Facebook and the website doing cool competitions like this.

Jack Lloyd - San Francisco, CA

I use a 9813-0....Have had it for at least two years and it has worked flawlessly. The wand is great for applications that require multiple reservoirs within a short distance and the instant reading make it also ideal for multiple reservoir applications. Calibration is a breeze and I find the want can stay calibrated for extended periods of time so long as the probe is maintained. I will use no other pH/EC meter except the 9813-0.

Joe Malczewski - San Diego, CA

I use HANNA's dip & test PPM & pH stick meters. Push a button on either, insert into solution, wait 5 secs. Easy! How many tools take only 5 secs to use and almost NO time to learn? I wish all of my equipment worked this way.

Curtis Ward - Lake Stevens, WA

I bought a HANNA pH/EC tester last year. I'm satisfied of how easy it is to use in the field. It makes my job a lot easier when I can help a grower in the field.

Mike Henderson - Cleveland, TN

HANNA PH meters are fast easy and reliable! Everything you need and a simple display to read. Thanks HANNA!

Kerri - Eureka, CA

We have been using HANNA's injectors now for 5 years and have purchased 2 more for our new hydroponic facility and our crops are better quality than ever before, due ot the accuracy of injectors and our grower joe.

Dave Vandevrede - Lincoln Park, NJ

I really love my Hanna Phosphate Photometer. It is really easy to use the re-agent and mix it with the aquarium water to get super accurate tests. My trick is the have lots of lint free paper towels to make sure the glass tubes are super clean and without any streaks or dust that could effect the test. Every week I test all 3 of my systems for Phosphate.

Richard Gross - Paradise Valley, AZ

Not only are Hanna products easy to use, they are the easiest to learn. Easy calibrations and the ease of use really make Hanna your best choice.

Shaina Lovitt - Manteca, CA
