What is a Multiparameter Meter?

A analytical instrument that can measure multiple parameters, such as pH, EC, TDS, DO and Temperature with one device.

What software do I need for my HI 9828 Multiparameter Meter?

You can download the data plotted on the meter to a PC by means of USB connector and HI 92000 Windows® compatible application for successive elaborations.

What is CAL CHECK™ feature on the HI 9813-6 Multiparameter Meter?

CAL CHECK™ allows the user to easily check the pH probe calibration status at any time.

What is the relationship between EC and TDS?

The relationship between the amounts of solids such as salts found in fertilizers is directly proportional to their conductivity, therefore, the higher the amount of solids the greater the conductivity. This is because when fertilizers are dissolved into water they become "ions", which means that they become positively or negatively charged and can therefore conduct a current.

"I just purchased a HI 9828 multiparameter meter. We do extensive monitoring of a creek, 15 monitoring wells, a drinking water system, and a sewage wastewater system. These meters equiped with the GPS and Tag Identification System has made my testing much easier and conveinent."
- Keith, AZ

"In 2009 Salt Lake County undertook a massive data collection campaign to eliminate data gaps identified in our Water Quality Stewardship Plan". We chose the Hanna HI 98280 Multiparameter Meter with GPS to be the workhorse behind this project. It has delivered data in remote mountain streams at 10,000' and valley bottom raging torrents and 106 °F heat at over 100 sites per month."

Using Multiparameter Meter at a Electroplating Plant

The most important parameters of the electrolytes used for electroplating ('plating bath' in technical parlance) include the pH. Depending on the nature of the plating method, the electrolytes can be acidic, basic or neutral. In case of this company, the pH value can vary between 1 and 13 pH, depending on the technology.
