Ambient temperature is the room temperature or the temperature of the surrounding environment.
A sensor for measuring temperature, it is made up of two dissimilar metals, joined together at one end. When the two metals is heated or cooled a voltage is created that can be correlated back to the temperature.
A thermocouple is available in different combinations of metals or calibrations. The four most common calibrations are J, K and T. Each calibration has a different temperature range and environment, although the maximum temperature varies with the diameter of the wire used in the thermocouple.
A type of resistance thermometer. Resistance thermometers are temperature sensors that exploit the predictable change in electrical resistance of some materials with changing temperature.
