The HI9814K comes as a complete kit for hydroponics nutrients, allowing you to start taking measurements as soon as you receive it.

The HI9814K includes the HI9814 hydroponics meter, specialized 3-in-1 probe, pH/EC Quick Cal calibration sachets, storage solution, agriculture cleaning solution, and shockproof green rubber boot.

  • Measure pH, TDS, & temp of your nutrient solution with one simple meter.
  • One combined, pre-amplified pH, EC, and TDS (ppm) probe for hassle-free measurements.
  • Designed especially for hydroponic, aquaponic, and greenhouse growers.

Groline Hydroponic Waterproof pH/EC/TDS/Temperature Portable Meter

The HI9814 portable hydroponics meter features a large multi level LCD which displays both pH, EC or TDS and temperature readings simultaneously. The pH readings are displayed with a 0.01 resolution and an accuracy of +/-0.05 pH while the EC and TDS readings are displayed with a 0.01 mS/cm and 10 ppm (mg/L) resolution and 2% full scale accuracy. The EC range of the HI9814 is from 0.01 to 6.00 mS/cm and TDS is from 0 to 3000 ppm using the 0.5 conversion factor. The EC to TDS conversion factor is selectable 0.5 (500) and 0.7 (700 ppm). A built in temperature sensor allows for automatic temperature compensated measurements of EC and TDS.

The HI9814 has many advanced features that are found in more expensive portable instrumentation including automatic calibration, buffer/standard recognition and temperature compensation. The LCD screen has indicators for calibration status and stability, as well as on-screen tutorial messages. The battery percent level is displayed at start up alerting the user to the remaining battery power that is available. The supplied HI1285-7 is a polypropylene body, amplified pH electrode with a built-in EC/TDS and temperature sensors. The amplifier for the pH electrode prevents interference from humidity and sources of electrical noise include circulating pumps, motors and ballasts for grow lights. The HI9814 is a versatile meter designed for measuring hydroponics nutrient levels in water.

The HI9814 is supplied with an amplified polypropylene body pH/EC/TDS/temperature probe. The built in amplifier will reduce the effects of electrical noise on the high impedance pH measurement. Examples of sources of electrical noise include circulating pumps, motors and ballasts for grow lights.

Quick Calibration Solution for GroLine pH and EC Meters

Quick Calibration Solution for GroLine pH & EC Meters

Calibration is simplified with a single point pH and EC calibration using the Hanna Quick Cal calibration solution. The TDS (ppm) measuring mode is automatically calibrated through the EC calibration. There is no need to have one TDS solution for a 0.5 (500 ppm) conversion factor and another for the 0.7 (700 ppm) conversion factor. The HI9814K is supplied with the HI50036P calibration solution. The HI50036P provides an additional 25 sachets of 20 ml Quick Cal solution.

GroLine General Purpose Cleaning Solution Sachets

GroLine General Purpose Cleaning Solution Sachets, 20 mL (25 pcs.)

Maintaining a clean electrode is critical in obtaining accurate and reliable measurements. Any drag out of nutrients from the reservoir tank to a storage solution will provide nutrients for biological growth. Using a cleaning solution will make sure the probe is effectively cleaned. Simply place the probe in the solution for 15-20 minutes. After cleaning it is then important to soak the probe in storage solution for 2-3 hours before calibrating and using again. The HI9814K includes the HI700061G GroLine Cleaning Solution. The HI700061G contains 25 one-time use sachets that contain 20 ml of solution.

GroLine Electrode Storage Solution

GroLine Storage solution (500 mL)

Every pH electrode needs to be stored in a solution. The HI70300-050 is a 500 ml bottle of storage solution. The storage solution is formulated to minimize biofilm growth on the electrode and maintain the hydration of the glass bulb and reference junction. Maintaining a properly stored pH electrode will provide for stable readings by maintaining the hydrated layer on the glass and a free flowing junction.

Shockproof Protective Rubber Boot

Shockproof Protective Rubber Boot

HI710025 is an green rubber boot that fits over the HI9814 Portable pH/EC/TDS hydroponics nutrient meter. The silicone rubber boot not only provides additional shockproof protection from accidental drops but also increases the tactile feel of the meter making it easier to hold.

HI98103 Prior Model

The connections between the prior model and current model are interchangeable.

Importance of maintaining a clean pH electrode

The most common cause for pH measurement inaccuracies is an unclean or improperly cleaned electrode. This is very important to note, because during calibration, the instrument assumes that the electrode is clean and that the standardization curve created during the calibration process will remain a valid reference until the next calibration. pH meters on the market today will allow an offset voltage of approximately ±60 mV. The deviation from 0 mV is not unusual but ideally should be no greater than ±30 mV. The calibration process compensates for the change in offset voltage. If the mV offset continues to deviate and the meter is calibrated with a dirty electrode then inaccurate readings will result.

The Cleaning Solution Series ensures maximum efficiency and accuracy of your sensors when used for its designated application. Cleaning is a fast and effective routine that should be performed on a regular basis as a preventative measure against using a dirty electrode and to ensure that the junction is not clogged.
