The final pH that is discharged is continuously checked as well.  Coating Systems, Inc. depends on Hanna Instruments Dual-Channel Universal Process Controller (HI520) to easily monitor and control pH/ORP automatically. Prior to using Hanna Instruments, Coating Systems, Inc. struggled to collect consistent ORP readings with the controllers that were utilized at the time. ORP results were always off by a zero. For example, if the controller displayed an ORP reading of “25”, then the actual correct ORP reading would be “250”.

After switching to Hanna Instruments Process Controllers for their facility, Coating Systems, Inc. was able to achieve more precise pH/ORP readings. This provided greater visibility into wastewater parameter levels and improved effluent management. With exact pH/ORP measurements, Coating Systems, Inc. was better equipped to make the necessary pH adjustments for zinc treatment and rectify pH and ORP fluctuations for chrome.

In addition to Process Controllers, Coating Systems, Inc. regularly tests with Hanna Instruments Portable Field pH/ORP/ISE Meter (HI98191) to spot check pH/ORP levels in the quality lab or on the production floor.
