Peristaltic dosing system
Manufactured with two peristaltic dosing pumps with replaceable chemical resistant tubing One of these pumps doses acid or base while the other is used to dose chlorine Alternatively, when a system uses a diaphragm pump, chlorine gas that forms from outgassing can collect in the pump head and cause the pump to lose its prime. With our Swimming Pool and Spa Controllers, the buildup of chlorine gas is not an issue due to the peristaltic pumps -
Automatic proportional pump control
Made with proportionally controlled dosing pumps Allows precise control and helps maintain the desired set point Users can set the proportional band based on the amount of chemicals added and the size of the body of water being treated. For example, a large body of water like a swimming pool, should use a small proportional band (e.g., 0.1 pH) to ensure that the pumps dose more often when the reading nears the set point. On the other hand, with a small body of water such as a hot tub, it is better to set a larger proportional band (e.g., 1.0 pH). This minimizes the amount of time that the dosing pump is on for and this also avoids large swings in pH and ORP levels -
Adjustable flow rate
Dosing pump flow rate is adjustable from 0.5 to 3.5L/h The adjustable flow rate, like the proportional band, allows for better control in maintaining a desired set point Larger bodies of water like swimming pools, require more chemicals to see a change in the reading compared to smaller bodies of water like hot tubs. This is where the adjustable flow rate comes in handy -
ORP (Chlorine) dosing consent
Perfect for chlorine disinfection as there is an inverse relationship between pH and ORP. When pH levels increase, the ORP levels decrease The dosing consent feature will not dose chlorine until the pH value is corrected first which can prevent a potentially irritating and unsafe condition This avoids having a chlorine concentration that is too high and prevents chemicals from being wasted
Upgrade & track from anywhere
with our Swimming Pool and Spa Controller (BL123)
Always know how your swimming pool, spa, or hot tub is doing from wherever you are. Check in on your controller remotely and securely from your phone, tablet, or laptop via the Hanna Cloud. All important information is sent to the Hanna Cloud via an Internet connection.
Get real-time readings and view all data including measurement trends, a results history log, controller settings, alarms, pump status, and more.
Ensure that the treatment of your spa, hot tub, or pool water is going swimmingly. Connect multiple devices and adjust your preferences to receive email or pop up messages with progress updates.

Features
- Supplied with our Digital Multiparameter pH/ORP/Temperature electrode (HI1306-1802). This electrode arrives with a matching pin that can detect a broken electrode. The matching pin also prevents ground loop effects from causing erratic readings and damage to the system
- Designed with an easy-to-read, LCD screen with three display modes. Users can choose to view all 3 parameter measurements at once, one parameter reading at a time that rotates every 3 seconds, or a real-time plot graph
- Equipped with a programmable alarm system for all 3 parameters including pH, ORP, and temperature. Choose to enable or disable alarms for when parameter levels are out of range. Once an alarm is activated, dosing will stop completely. Our Swimming Pool and Spa Controllers will also switch to alarm mode if the value is not adjusted within a specified timeframe to prevent overdosing
- Built with multicolored LED indicators that visually signal the status of the controller and how it is functioning. Green shows when the parameters are within range, yellow means that attention is required, and red notifies users that there is a problem and that levels are not within range
- These controllers allow for a connection to an optional level controller. This input is used to disable the dosing pumps when there is no chemical left in the reservoir tank
-
Reporting and connection options
- Our Swimming Pool and Spa Controllers (BL121 and BL123) have 3 analog outputs (4-20 MA) for pH, ORP, and temperature. Each analog output can be disabled or connected to an external recording device. Parameters can be assigned to an analog output where the current signal will adjust to be proportional to the measured value. For greater flexibility and better resolution, the analog output can be scaled and users can define any two points within a parameter range to correspond to the analog output span. This adjustment allows for better resolution for the desired range
- Connect an inline flow switch or a mechanical relay to the recirculation pump power source. This holds the input of these Swimming Pool and Spa Controllers. If there is no flow or if the recirculation pump has no power, then the hold circuit will disable the dosing pumps. This prevents the dosing of chemicals when there is no movement of water in the system
- The readings for each parameter are automatically logged every 10 seconds. A new log is created at the start of a new day or each time the controllers are calibrated. All necessary GLP (Good Laboratory Practice) data is stored including the values for each parameter, any event data, and calibration and setup configuration information
- Export and transfer data using a USB Flash Drive and the USB-C port
- Secure these controllers with password protection. Users can choose to restrict access and passwords can be enabled or disabled during set up
- Available with our Swimming Pool and Spa Controller (BL123) only! This controller can connect to the Hanna Cloud using a secure Ethernet connection
