We were honored to be invited to this prestigious university and enjoyed our time at their impressive culinary facility. We observed students examine the current trends in food science and the critical role that testing plays in quality assurance and food safety compliance. It was incredible to see the future generation of culinary innovators in action, using scientific testing equipment, and their passion and excitement for the food industry.

We understand that testing at different checkpoints throughout the food production process is a critical component of setting guidelines and standards. From our time spent on campus with faculty and staff, it is evident that JWU really prides itself on educating students about the unique relationship that exists between culinary knowledge, food science expertise, and sophisticated product development. Not only does this prepare students for career opportunities in the food industry, but it also equips them with the technical skills required to meet consumer demand.

We are very appreciative to everyone at Johnson & Wales University’s College of Food Innovation & Technology for showing us around the beautiful Providence campus. We especially enjoyed stopping by JWU’s prominent Culinary Arts Museum and seeing one of their pristine culinary laboratories in person. We were inspired by the talented faculty and staff and the essential work that is being done to help continue to drive the food industry forward. With Hanna Instruments portable water quality testing equipment, the Council can test parameters alongside the river stream. Leaders can make informed decisions and determine the best course of action to improve the river's health. The Council also educates the younger generations by using our testing equipment to demonstrate firsthand the importance of environmental water quality and the need to sustain thriving ecosystems for the future. The Blackstone Valley Tourism Council is performing essential environmental work in RI, and we are grateful for the opportunity to assist with their mission.
